And whether you get it back comes down to a walkthrough that takes fifteen minutes and is conducted by someone who is specifically looking for reasons not to return it. Inside the oven. The refrigerator drawers. The tracks of the sliding door. The baseboards. The inside of the cabinets where the crumbs have been living since you moved in.

You have already spent a week packing. You are exhausted, you're surrounded by boxes, and your truck is due back at 5pm. The last thing you have in you is four hours on your hands and knees in a house you no longer live in, and yet that four hours is standing between you and somewhere between $800 and $3,000.

On the other side of the move, the problem flips. You are about to carry everything you own into a house that someone else lived in. Their hair in the bathroom drain. Their dust in the vents. You want to walk into something that is yours from the first minute, not something you inherit.

What the job actually involves

When we quote you $200+ starting at for move-in / move-out cleaning, this is the work that number covers. Not a summary of it, and not the best-case version of it. This is the list.

• Full interior of all cabinets, drawers, and closets
• Inside the oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, and microwave
• All baseboards, door frames, and trim
• Interior windows, sills, and door tracks
• Complete bathroom detail: tub, tile, grout, fixtures, vanity
• Light fixtures, ceiling fans, and vent covers
• Wall spot-cleaning for scuffs and marks
• Floors vacuumed, mopped, and edged

If something you need is not on that list, say so when you text. It is nearly always something we can add, and it is far better to agree it beforehand than to have you disappointed by an omission neither of us discussed.
