The produce drawer has a layer at the bottom. Something leaked on the second shelf a while ago and fused itself to the glass. The door seal has crumbs and a dark line along the fold. And every time you open the door there's a smell that isn't strong enough to act on but is absolutely there.

It's the chore everyone postpones, because doing it right means taking everything out, dealing with what you find, washing shelves that don't fit in a sink, and putting it all back. An hour minimum, and an unpleasant one.

For forty dollars, you never have to do it. Open the door tomorrow and it's bright, it smells like nothing at all, and you can see what you actually have.

What the job actually involves

When we quote you $40 flat rate for inside refrigerator cleaning, this is the work that number covers. Not a summary of it, and not the best-case version of it. This is the list.

• Complete removal of all contents
• Shelves and drawers removed and hand-washed
• Interior walls and ceiling degreased and sanitized
• Door seals and gaskets cleaned along every fold
• Dried spills and residue lifted, not scraped
• Deodorizing treatment
• Expired items identified and discarded with your approval
• Contents returned in an organized layout

If something you need is not on that list, say so when you text. It is nearly always something we can add, and it is far better to agree it beforehand than to have you disappointed by an omission neither of us discussed.
